Another one of coolest feature of TomeNet is weather. And I see behind this system much more then simple cosmetic effects. It could be changed in very interesting way.
1) Make weather influence to characters. For example: rain could reduce vision, debuff chance to hit with melee or ranged items (for enemies also), buff some other things, like water and poison damage. Sunny weather – reduce nether effects, buff light damage, reduce dark magic effects & etc. Also night-time (its not really weather, but day/light system, but it could have similar concept) – could be versa to sunny weather. So night is the time of undead and wicked stuff 2) Add weather to dungeons. Not all effects could happen there. But mist, fog, heat could happen. Also there could be some additional effects – for example, acid mist (or acid rain in wilderness-like dungeons), which could affect at your equipment in time
3) Add new property for items “influence at weather” and “weather control”. For example if you equip Sword of Sorrow – it would be always raining around you (coolest feature ). Another thing – give possibility to the best artifacts and the most powerful mages to control weather (you could change it with special command) around caster (a few feets). This would be unique system which didn’t exist in any RPG game And its quite possible to create such system in time.
Types of weather.
Cloudy – reduce vision and everything becomes less bright
Rainbow – buff to saving throw
Wet – you could slip (1 turn stun) there.
Humid – electricity magic works better
